CAR & MOTOR REPAIR
& MAINTENANCE

Merewether Tyre & Mechanical is dedicated to providing a wide range of services to suit their customers' needs. We pride ourselves on delivering work that has a high level of workmanship and is conducted in a time-efficient manner.

MANUFACTURER'S LOGBOOK SERVICING

We provide manufacturer's logbook servicing to ensure that your vehicle continues to be covered under warranty by your car manufacturer. We ensure that we complete this service with genuine or spec parts and complete the logbook that is provided with your vehicle.

MINOR & MAJOR CAR SERVICING

MTM provides minor and major car servicing on all makes and models of cars. Depending on the service required, we may:

  • complete a comprehensive vehicle inspection

  • run diagnostic checks

  • replace the oil and/or filter

  • rotate the tyres

  • check/replace the transmission or differential oil

  • check/replace the brake and clutch fluid

  • All other items as required

We recommend regular car servicing to identify potential issues before they become major issues that may affect your vehicle.  Regular servicing is also crucial when you are looking to sell your vehicle, as it provides a history in the care of the car.

E-SAFETY & REGISTRATION CHECKS

Under legislative requirements, if your car is over 5 years old, you are required to have a yearly safety inspection carried out on your vehicle. This is also known as a pink slip. We also conduct unregistered vehicle (blue slip) inspections.

Our team conducts eSafety and Registration Checks in line with Service NSW requirements. If you pass this check, we pass this information onto Service NSW, however, if your vehicle fails the safety check, our team can provide you with a quote and timeline of the works required to be undertaken. We do not undertake any work without prior consultation.

BRAKES &

SUSPENSION

The suspension and brakes are vitally important for the safety, and overall driveability of your vehicle.

Suspension is responsible for keeping all tyres rolling safely on the road, and provides the basis for smooth driving, braking, and steering.  Warning signs that your suspension may need some work include uneven tyre wear, damaged or leaking shock absorbers, or your vehicle sitting on a lean when parked on even ground.

Brakes should be maintained regularly, and are classed as wear items due to their constant use whilst driving.

Our team provides a range of suspension and brake servicing to keep you and your family safe.

CLUTCH REPAIR &REPLACEMENT

Ensuring that your vehicle's clutch is in good working order is essential for your safety on the road. We provide clutch repair and replacement for all makes and models of cars.

Signs that your clutch might need repair or replacement include:

  1. Your clutch pedal resistance has changed - if it quickly moves to the floor, without some resistance, this is a good sign that your clutch is worn and needs to be replaced

  2. Your clutch pedal height has changed - this may be due to a worn clutch or other

  3. Your car is struggling to move down gears - keep an eye on the RPM, and if your vehicle is struggling to instantly drop down from 3rd to 2nd gear, this may be a clutch issue.

  4. Odd noises when changing gears or the pedal shaking or vibrating - this may be a clutch problem, and needs to be addressed.

ELECTRIC,COMPUTER

&BATTERY

The electrics and computer components of your vehicle are important to the ongoing maintenance and overall functionality of your car. When these components do not work or do not work to their full ability, it can compromise the security and safety of your vehicle.

From rectifying broken or malfunctioning power windows to testing your odometer, we can assist in getting your vehicle back in tip-top shape.

Your car battery is the lifeblood of your vehicle's electrical system. The battery kick starts the car, then the alternator kicks in to keep the car running. Batteries typically last anywhere from 3-5 years, and ensuring you are taking care of the battery will ensure its longevity.

We can help you to replace your car battery or undertake any other maintenance work your vehicle requires.

EXHAUST & MUFFLER

REPAIR

The job of your vehicle's exhaust is to direct harmless gasses away from the engine and take them to a safe location. The exhaust includes a variety of pipes that reduce the temperature generated by the engine, and then cycle through a converter to reduce the amount of gas released into the air,  with the remainder filtered out of the back of the car. The muffler forms part of the exhaust system and ensures that your vehicle is operating quietly (or loudly, whatever your preference!)

We provide a range of exhaust and muffler services that can improve the efficiency and economy of your vehicle.
